Artwork Format Requirements

Our preference for artwork is in electronic form, otherwise a clean camera-ready PMT artwork in black and white. Half tones and screens are all okay. The better the art - the better the print job.

If the artwork is provided on disk is must be accompanied with a printed proof, in color if possible, showing the design layout for both the front and back with all type shown. All colors must be noted (preferably with PMS number code) and all fonts styles/names must be identified.

Other important notes to designers :

1. Keep any important copy graphics 1/8" away from any die cut edges.

2. The glasses are cut on a common knife. The top die cutting rule of one glass is the same as the bottom of the next. This is most critical in the areas between the scores (when the temples of the glasses bend). If there is a pattern between the scores and above or below the eyes, it should be fairly random to avoid distinct color "run on".

3. To improve your delivery time, keep backside copy printing in one of the same colors as the front copy. This is especially important on orders 25,000 or less.

4. It is often helpful to fax a copy or proof of the art to us before finalizing it on disk so that we might see any manufacturing or printing potential problems on the front end. This is most important on large runs or multiple color jobs.

5. Our patent information must appear (usually on an inside earpiece) on each pair of glasses.
